Sir Remy

Teo

Scrambler

I recorded this at Snug Harbor during the 2008 Jazz Fest in New Orleans. This is dedicated to my sister’s dog, Remy. This is one of my favorite selections from Ellis Marsalis’s newest album, "An Open Letter to Thelonious," where we recorded our arrangements of Thelonious Monk compositions. Teo felt great the first time we played it in the studio and Ellis’s accompaniment is exceptional. This is an updated tenor saxophone version of my original composition from my debut CD in which I played alto. Listeners can now compare the new tenor version of Scrambler to my earlier work and can follow the development of my sound.
